Unable to pay vet bill.....?

Okay before anybody goes ripping me a new one, this is my situation.......... I have just moved 2500 miles away to get out of a marriage. I came out here with nothing, no TV, no furniture, no car, two pairs of jeans. I am living right now with a borrowed beach chair and an air mattress. Yes, I have internet... it is how I make a living and my situation won%26#039;t always be the way it is but it%26#039;s where I%26#039;m at right now.

I have a cat that I brought with me that I%26#039;ve had for 8 years. She is like my child.... getting rid of her is simply not an option. She%26#039;s gotten a hematoma in her ear. I took her to the vet to look at it and that visit cost $100 that I really couldn%26#039;t afford but now the surgery is also going to cost an additional $100 and I simply don%26#039;t have it. I honestly brought nothing with me from my marriage and left 15 years worth of stuff back 2500 miles away so I have nothing to sell. I applied for Care Credit and got turned down. What other options do I have now?

Unable to pay vet bill.....?

I%26#039;m so sorry to hear of your situation. I%26#039;ve been there, sort of. It was my mom that moved with my sibs and I and nothing but the clothes on our backs and a few other things but not much.

Below is a link of organizations that help with vet bills. I hope you find the help you need. Good luck to you and your kitty.

Unable to pay vet bill.....?

Would your vet be willing to work out an individual payment plan with you? Many will.

Do you have any friends/family members who would be willing to loan you the money or even pay the bills for you?

Can you take on a second job for a short while to earn enough to cover the costs?

That%26#039;s all I can think of...

I hope you mangae to work something out! Best wishes!

Unable to pay vet bill.....?

hello,

see if they will do a payment plan with you. sometimes if you explain your situation they may do this. If the surgery is emergency and must be done a good vet may take this into consideration. also you can go to your local shelter they usually have vet they can recommend or that they use that may cost less.

hope this helps

Explain your situation to the vet. If he/she truly cares about the animals, they will offer up a payment plan for you.

Sounds like you got burned a good from your marriage. I also went through a divorce and had to start over from scratch. Depending on where you live you can contact your local animal shelter for help or they can direct you where to go so you can go ahead with your sweet cats surgery.

Sorry about your situation, that has to be tough. See if the vet%26#039;s office will give you a payment plan for the procedure and office visits. Most of the time they will because the animal gets help and they eventually get their money. You could also try to apply for a credit card.

I found a website that offers financial aid to pet owners. It is worth a shot. Also check with your vet to see if he/she knows of any financial aid options for you.

Good luck!

HAVE YOU TRIED THE BLUE CROSS. I KNOW THAT IF YOU ARE ON INCAPASITY BENIFIT OR JOB SEEKERS ALLOWANCE YOU CAN GO THERE. AND MAKE SURE YOU GIVE THEM A DONATION FOR WHAT EVER TREATMENT IS GIVEN TO YOUR PET.BUT DON%26#039;T TAKE THE P AS THEY DO A LOT OF GOOD WORK, YOU DON%26#039;T SAY WHERE YOU ARE LIVING WEITHER YOUR IN THE U.K. OR OUT SIDE. HOPE YOU GAT THE HELP YOU NEED AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU HOPE EVERYTHING WORKS OUT ALRIGHT.

Ask your vet about the Farley Foundation - you may or may not qualify.

Also see if there is any way you can work out a payment plan with your vet - ask this not only of the reception staff but ask to speak to a manager. Present your case slowly, clearly and give the manager or doctor confidence that you intend fully to honour your debt.

Next you could beg any friends for a small loan - $100 should not prevent you from helping your cat. Explain the situation to friends or relatives and BE SURE TO REPAY them or they won%26#039;t trust you again. Outline a clear plan with dates and amounts of repayments, even if only $10 a month. A specific plan will help friends see you will pay them back.

Good luck...I can%26#039;t promise the above will work but it is there is a good chance and it is definitely worth a try for your cat%26#039;s sake....

cut costs.. go to the food bank... pick up pop bottles and take them for return on deposit.. every little bit helps

talk to the vet.. in some areas there are shelters or funds set up for people like yourself... or ask them if they will take payment?

good luck..

lines of credit are bad.. so its probably good you got turned down

are you expecting any $ from your ex? have him sell some of the things you left and send you the cash... (only if its safe)

Unable to pay vet bill.....?

A vet is in business to take care of medical problems for animals. Inso doing they earn a living. They want you as a customer because they want to help you with your cat and they would like to be paid for it.

SO - Go to the vet and explain the problem and work out a payment plan. If you make an agreement, and you pay off your debt, you have establshed your first credit account.

The Humane society will also help you. There are other cat care agencies - private of course - that might give you help. You have to do a search and ask losts of questions. Use the Net, the Yellow pages and also information from a shelter fo some such.

You have to get the cat some help before this gets worse, infected or the cat get blood poisoning. This cannot be postponed indefinitely. Take some form of action and get some help.

When reading your entire situation, i was going to recommend care credit, that%26#039;s what i have and it%26#039;s definitely helped in many clutch situations. Other than that, I%26#039;d recommend finding a vet nearby that%26#039;d be willing to work out a payment plan with you, if the original vet won%26#039;t, call around and explain your situation and see if they will arrange a smaller payment arrangement, b/c putting off your pet is NOT an option with someone that serious. Is there anyone in the area that perhaps you could borrow the money off of and pay them back? You must know someone that would be able to lend you $100, i mean unfortunately, there is only so much you can accomplish on yahoo answers, i%26#039;d recommend getting out there and husling your butt off to try to do what you can to make your situation better. Congraduations on taking the big step to get out of a relationship, many women don%26#039;t have that strength! Good Luck!

ask to pay weekly,or is there a pet shelter out there to help with bills ask the vet he might know

Unable to pay vet bill.....?

I was going to suggest the agencies like IMOM, etc, but others have already posted those links for you.

If the vet will not let you work out a payment plan, will he/she allow you to work part-time in the clinic/hospital to pay the bill? There are many things you can do without formal training, such as clean kennels and cages, walk the dogs, clean and sterilize utensils used during examinations and surgery, clean and restock examination rooms, restock items for resale such as food and other pet supplies, just to name a few.

Also check with the humane society or rescues in this area. Many of them have reserve funds to assist folks like you that are experiencing financial hardships until they can get on their feet again.

Good luck to you and hope you can find the way to help your beloved kitty companion.

Purrs and prayers for you and kitty.

The besy thing to do is to put ur pet to sleep, if not he will have to suffer and be tortured by the illness which is more cruel than ending her life...i am very sad to say that...
