Do you think having a credit responsibility class in high school would help young adults with their

To be clear I think letting people know what they are getting into and knowing how to make something work for them before they use it will lead them to wiser decision about their future. Good idea, bad idea, or do you think they would care?

Do you think having a credit responsibility class in high school would help young adults with their credit?

If you can get them to take the class, then it is a great idea.

It especially requires the info about the cost of student loans while at college and how to mangae debt so as to repay those loans etc and maintain a living above the base poverty line.

Too many of our college or university grads are so deep in debt when they get out of school that they now have one of the highest backruptcy rates for any group.

Also required is info about investing for retirement, buying a house, health care and everything else we need to keep things moving along in our lives. Our young are sent out into the world with few real skills or enough info the handle all the challenges ahead of them.

Not too many would care, but it you let the parents know there is this course, you might get more taking it. Need to point out that armed with the info from the course they may be better off than their parents are.

Good idea, along with the rest of the topics covered in a LIFE SKILLS class.

I might%26#039;ve spared myself some suffering had I gotten a clue or two (since we don%26#039;t hear it when it comes out of our parent%26#039;s mouths).

very good idea. i would love for my kids to take the class

I don%26#039;t think they would care. The me generation is only concerned with what they can get without having to struggle for it, Thanks baby boomers for your offspring and their kids.

Do you think having a credit responsibility class in high school would help young adults with their credit?

Not really. I mean, a lot of kids take Driver%26#039;s Ed but when they have their license %26amp; are out on the road, they really don%26#039;t apply what they%26#039;ve learned.

Sure, it%26#039;ll help some kids before they make mistakes %26amp; get themselves buried under a lot of debt.

But there%26#039;s a lot of kids in high school who don%26#039;t think things entirely through %26amp; act as if they%26#039;ve never had any advice or classes on the subject until it comes %26amp; bites them in the butt. Just take a look at the kids who do drugs %26amp; drink alcohol even though they learned that stuff is bad for them in freshman health class..

Good idea, but would the kids listen?

They certainly don%26#039;t pay attention in health class.

GOOD IDEA! i%26#039;m in high school and i took a Life Managment course and i learned a lot about banking and credit and it%26#039;s still all a confusing mess to me..but i think a lot of people my age need to understand it before we get out into the real world and mess ourselves up!
