I have debt of around S$50,000. Have been paying minimum for few years.

Now face some difficulty as I need to quit my job to take care of my kids and all burden rest with my husband.

I have tried CCS but they told me they cant help and suggest i talk to banks directly or declare bankrupt.

I don%26#039;t mind declare bankrupt if need to but need to find out more about it.

Is there any company or law firm in Singapore that I can get some answers or solution?

There are two ways to this kind of problem in Singapore.

Different countries have different law systems.

1st - Perform a Debt Retsructuring.

Your debt can be paid over 5 years at a lower interest between 8-12% per annum as compared to current 24% per annum. With the reduction in interest, monthly payment will be reduced by 30% and best thing is you can clear your debt in 5 years.

2nd - If after restructuring, you still find difficulty in your monthly payment then there is no point to put yourself and family through the agony of financial distress for next 5 years as any default in repayment banks will not hesitate to take legal action.

You can opt to self declare babnkrupt. Once made bankrupt you just need to pay a certain % of your pay to Official Assignee. Life practically remains the same. Nobody will know you are bankrupt. Your company won%26#039;t be informed so you can continue with your job as usual. You can still travel albeit need to apply.

I accompained a friend to a service provider company in Peninsular Plaza that assist people to self-declare bankrupt. They charrge about $700++ plus some court charges $1.2k+, and assist u throu%26#039; the whole process..................pretty good cos my friend was hounded by those banks for a few mths before that. He owned 30k+ in total. After he self-declared, the banks stop pestering him. But before that, draw out every $ in all yr bank account, cos these banks are fast, once they got news u are going to self declare, they%26#039;ll freeze the money in yr account.. U might want to draw out any $ in yr children%26#039;s saving account, cos these banks might also freeze yr children bank accounts. Good luck! Quickly go do it!
