Can anyone help with this return?

A married couple has the following income

Husband: 25,000

wife: 26000

Child day care epenses for the year: 7000.

What is the dependent care credit?

Can anyone help with this return?

Depends on how many kids. Look at form 2441. You can list $3000 if you have one eligible child receiving the care, $6000 for two or more children.

Percentage would probably be .20, so your actual dependent care credit would probably be $600 if you just have one eligible child, or $1200 if you have two or more.

Can anyone help with this return?

Couple of things to add what Judy has said, what%26#039;s the age of the child(ren)? Dependent care credit ends the year the child(ren) turns 13, although you can take the dedendent care credit for expenses incurred in the year that the child(ren) turns 13 up to when they did turn 13. Also, the dependent care credit is not a refundable credit, so you have to have a tax liability in order to get any benefit from the dependent care credit. I%26#039;ve included a link to the irs website for the dependent care credit.

I live in the Dallas Ft Worth area and I am in need of some dental and orthodontal work.?

I cant find a good insurance or an office that work with me (i dont qualify for care credit or anyother credit cards) Any advice?

I live in the Dallas Ft Worth area and I am in need of some dental and orthodontal work.?

You have four options with dental.

1. Visit a local dental school. You can get most procedures done for a reduced price if you%26#039;re willing to let them practice on you and actually they are very good.

2. Insurance - Depending upon the policy: cost $30-$60 per month. You pay a $50 deductible first, they have an annual maximum that they%26#039;ll pay per year of $750 - $1500, they have a waiting period up to 18 months for major work and then you%26#039;re paying 50% of the charges. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With insurance you pay $414 after paying 18 months of premium (around $800 or $900). Advantage - you can use any dentist with most plans.

3. Discount plans - Cost - $5-$12 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Also, hardly any dentists will accept the plan and when they do you MIGHT get a 10% discount, which is about the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With discount plans you pay around $746. Be very wary of these plans because most are scams. The people that sell these plans have little or no knowledge about health %26amp; dental insurance and do not need a license to sell them. The plans are not regulated by the state so you have no recourse when you have problems. Some states are starting to ban these plans from being sold. Here is an informative link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes... concerning these plans.

4. Fee for Service discount plans - Cost $7-$15 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Many dentist will accept the plan (check providers first before signing up with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge you. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With fee for service plans you pay as little as $404.

I%26#039;m an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo... specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered.

I live in the Dallas Ft Worth area and I am in need of some dental and orthodontal work.?

Depending on your income level you may qualify for free Dental Care, If you live in Tarrant County contact John Peter Smith, If you live in Dallas County contact Baylor School of Dentistry(Dental students work on patients under a licensed dentist and you pay only the cost of materials and administration fee--)3302 Gaston Ave, Dallas, TX 75246

(214) 828-8100

Ask about the Texas Smiles program. A link that you may find helpful is provided.

I live in the Dallas Ft Worth area and I am in need of some dental and orthodontal work.?

Dental Tourism is now common practise, whereby patients find it cheaper to travel to india for dental treatment. specifically orthodontal treatment which is very expensive in developed countries can be done at a fraction of the cost with the same quality in india. you can contact Inderprastha Dental College at ipdentalcollege@yahoo.com for the same.

I live in the Dallas Ft Worth area and I am in need of some dental and orthodontal work.?

Hi Crystal

If the cost of treatment is a major concern, then i would suggest you explore the option of travelling to another country for your dentalwork.

Whilst it isnt financially feasible for everyone, the fact you can save over 90% on prices in the US and UK makes it very attractive to many.

Of course you need to do your due dilligence and make sure the dentist you decide on has both the expertise and most importantly recommendations you can check.

I have done this myself a few months ago. After extensive research i went to a delightful and highly recommended lady dentist in Mexico, and saved myself over $33,000 on what i%26#039;d been quoted here.

As i say , this isnt for everyone, but if you are thinking of spending a considerable sum of money, it is an option you should perhaps at least consider..:-)

More details on where and why i went to Mexico below

Hope this helps

Cheers

Im torn between mortgage, Job and school,,,,,, PLz Help!?

I am working in nursing home as a certified nursing assistant,,, Now I am planning to step up my career as an Lpn by a year or two.

I do have a $1500 mortgage/monthly and the rest of the utilities bill.

The question is,

%26quot;Do I have to get a loan?%26quot; ( and just work part time )

I hate loaning money, matter of fact, I just cut both of my credit card visa and care credit a week ago.

I want to be debt free and be able to afford my monthly mortgage and the rest.

Any ideas how do I do these? ( Should I go full time school and part time job?)

or Full time Job and part time school?

Is there anything in the internet that I can supplement my income?

Please serious answers only!

Im torn between mortgage, Job and school,,,,,, PLz Help!?

Will you be able to get a loan if you applied for one? What about a second job just to save up a little extra for school or bills, until you are finished with school.

Or move to a cheaper place...

Or do some work from home on the weekends....???

Yes there are lots of opportunities on the net. You just have to be careful and pick the right one. Anytime you think something sounds too good to be true - it probably is. So go to scam.com and see if they list it as a scam or not, before trying it. And don%26#039;t spend too much money! You shouldn%26#039;t have to pay an employer first to work.

there%26#039;s baby sitting, walking dogs, having a part time doggie daycare, consulting of some sort.....

Im torn between mortgage, Job and school,,,,,, PLz Help!?

Go full time school and full time job and sacrifice family and friends for a couple of years.

Im torn between mortgage, Job and school,,,,,, PLz Help!?

I would not get a loan. You could overextend yourself financially, become overwhelmed and unable to pay everything, and risk losing the good credit you have worked so hard to maintain.

I think you should work full-time and go to school part-time so you can maintain your mortgage and other finances. Once you finish school, you%26#039;ll be glad you stayed on top of your bills.

No matter what you decide, blessings to you.

Im torn between mortgage, Job and school,,,,,, PLz Help!?

Go to school part time for the first semester keep your full time job. You have a $1500.00 mortgage not rent. Get all the support you can from family members and friends. Good Luck!

You can do it!!! Part Time first semester and if you are doing good in school step up to full time.

Im torn between mortgage, Job and school,,,,,, PLz Help!?

Don%26#039;t get a loan if you can help it.

Look into the finacial aid at the school you want to go to, they might be able to give you a scholarship. Also talk to your employer, sometimes they offer tuition assistance if it pertains to doing your job better.

If none of that works out, figure out how much you have to spend on tuition while still paying your bills. If that means you have to work full time then do that. Then figure out how much time you want to spend each week on coursework. Balance the money and time to find a happy medium.

Im torn between mortgage, Job and school,,,,,, PLz Help!?

hmm im only 14 so idk lol

Advice&Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

I have pretty bad pain from 4 impacted wisdom teeth that have cavities. They are growing in sideways and pushing against my other teeth%26amp;everyday my other teeth hurt and ache, and so does my jaw. The pain is getting worse, and to have them removed, i%26#039;ve been given an estimate of around $2400 for all four. I don%26#039;t have insurance, or qualify for any care credit plan so have had to cope with the pain. The thing is, I have 2 dentists, located in different places. I went to one of my dentist and told her I couldn%26#039;t deal with the pain and lack of sleep and she wrote me a prescription for Vicodin, but will not allow me to have refills. I%26#039;ve found that Vicodin knocks the pain right out and I get a full nights rest. So, my question is, is it wrong or illegal to go to my second dentist and ask for a prescription as well? She%26#039;s already told me that if Motrin isn%26#039;t taking care of the pain, then to come back and she%26#039;ll write me a prescription.

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

Its not illegal but it is misleading, %26amp; can be dangerous if they start prescribing different medications, they may %26quot;clash%26quot; %26amp; either have nasty side effectrs or cancel each other out.

Be careful not to over self medicate, that way can lead to addiction.

Id say ride out the ignorance for now, but beware of the above %26amp; come clean only if u need to, you wouldnt be the 1st to have multiple health providers

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

I dont think it wrong. My mother does the same thing well not for tooth ache but for all over body pain that she has had since she was five, It becomes wrong when it becomes an addiction

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

Neither is it immoral or illegal. You need the medicine. Just be careful because vicotin is very addictive, like any opiate pain reliever. You should really figure out a way to get dental insurance, or get a job that gives dental benefits, so that you can afford the help you definately need.

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

no you go to the bank get a loan and get them teeth pulled your going to be a drug addict with bad teeth

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

...i dont think its illegal but you sounds like one of the ladies I saw on intervention, who would go to diff doctors and such and get diff perscriptions. I think that instead of going from place to place to try and get more vicodin (which can become addicting over time) why dont you try daving for the operation...not getting your wisdom teeth out can lead to other problems in your mouth, and you may have to get surgery later in time to fix the problem you could have fixed months ago...so in the end..i would just save up for the operation...ask friends/family/co-workers for some borrowed money if you need to....

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

if u can%26#039;t afford to fix then u have right to get the medicine to get rid of pain. but by telling the doctors u can%26#039; be protect yourself from any side effect of the medicine.

if u know there is no side effect n as far as u r paying the bills and buying the medicine then i think it is okay.

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

I don%26#039;t know about its legality, but it is unethical. You seem to be asking for reassurance that the end really does justify the means. Western Dental offers installment payments, I believe. Why not check them out?

The end does not justify the means, or even murderers would be holy because we all try to justify ourselves.

And think, also, of the harm you might be doing to yourself, your loved ones, or society, if you become addicted to painkillers. This would make it unethical from the viewpoint of utilitarianism and ethical altruism. Would you want everyone cheating to get more painkillers than a trained medical professional would want you to have? Including your jet pilot, chauffeur, and brain surgeon? Then it is unethical from the viewpoint of Kantian ethics.

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

I wouldn%26#039;t say it%26#039;s wrong. Now if you were getting it because of an addiction, that would be wrong.

The first dentist has already told you that she would not give you a refill, but you still feel the pain. So if the other dentist is willing to give you the Vicodin and you actually need it, it should be perfectly fine.

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

Yes, this is illegal. Go to one dr only. If the pharmacy catches you (they have networked now), you will get in trouble.

Go to the closest dentist university. They will pull them for low cost or even free.

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

Away at college? Are you near a dental school? You can get the work done there much cheaper, possibly free.

Stay clear of the vicodin unless you want to be a strung out college kid.

Advice%26amp;Opinions? Is this wrong or illegal?

yes it is illegal. Rusch Limbaugh did a similiar thing and got into big trouble.

I have two income tax refund questions?

I would like somebody to give me a round figure on how much i should get back from taxes this year. All the numbers i%26#039;m giving you are round figures.

income this year $38.5k

taxes taken $6700

I stay in virginia

2 kids

head of house hold

earned income credit

day care credit- $1000 a month

claming cell phone

single

also i work in the security field and i was wondering if i would get more of a refund if i claimed my taxes the normal way or should i itemize this year since i pay for the cleaning of my uniform.equipment and tolls?

I have two income tax refund questions?

I would make a good guess and I think it will be close to $3000. but that is going to depend on how you file. try this:

www.TaxAct.com

You can e-file for free... and also, it will give you the refund amount as you are processing your information.

Unless you have 10,000 (ten thousand) in interest and mortgage deductions.. it will not be wise to do the long form file. But, TaxAct will also advise you of that.

I have two income tax refund questions?

I would have to complete your tax return on the basis of your information to give you a refund answer. Also I would want more information. That takes time and time is valuable. Whether or not you itemize depends on the total of your deductible expenses, such as interest, taxes, medical expenses, uniforms, contributions, casualties, etc.

You can easily get an answer by filling out your tax return. Or you pay someone to do it for you.

I have two income tax refund questions?

I%26#039;d guess that even if you itemize it won%26#039;t be higher than the standard deduction. But you can put the numbers into turbo tax and it will tell you.

I have two income tax refund questions?

It%26#039;s not possible to say accurately. You have not broken out how the tax withholdings work out -- that%26#039;s WAY too much for Federal income tax for that wage level so it must include VA State taxes and FICA.

Unless your itemized deductions total more than $5,350 it isn%26#039;t worth itemizing and you%26#039;ll have a hard time convincing the IRS that you paid that much for uniform cleaning and a cell phone in most cases, especially with that much in daycare expenses.

Based upon your income your total tax liability is about $2,508. You have a child care credit of $1,380 and child tax credit of $1,128 that wipe that out, plus a refundable Additional Child Tax Credit of $872. You make too much to qualify for the EIC so get nothing there.

Based upon those numbers above you%26#039;ll get all of your Federal income tax withheld returned, plus the $872 ACTC.

You should bump up your withholding allowances by at least 7 or 8 to cut down on that refund as it is WAY too high. You%26#039;re giving the government an interest free loan of about $150 per WEEK that I%26#039;d wager that you could put to much better use if it was in your paycheck!

Some dental advice, please?

I%26#039;m having severe tooth pain, and I%26#039;m really worried. I Don%26#039;t have dental insurance, and when I saw a dentist this past summer, he said I needed a root canal/crown. I went to talk to the receptionist and she told me I was looking at 2500. There were also 2 others that were in that kind of shape that i had seen and the dentist said there was even another that i haven%26#039;t felt yet. I really can%26#039;t afford that, and the care credit? My estimate was 300 for the next 5 years.

I know this is a lot to ask, but please no %26quot;well, you have to forget about the money and go for your health......%26quot; There is just no way, okay?

I%26#039;m about to head off to Mexico to get my teeth fixed, if someone can%26#039;t give me some other kind of advice. I DO know I need to have this done, but its something i cannot foresee when the amount of the work I need done equals the cost of a new (Ford) car.

I don%26#039;t need advice on taking care of them, either. I brush 2-3 times a day, I%26#039;m addicted to floss-picks.

Some dental advice, please?

Okay first...I went to two dentists and both told me I needed a root canal. I am from a small town living in the city. I went to my dentist from my home town and turns out I didnt need a root canal. He informed me that dentists at times say you need stuff when you really dont. How would you really know if you needed it anyway, youre not a dentist. How convenient. Make sure you actually need one. If you really do, please dont go to Mexico. Most dental or any medical office have payment plans. They can set you up. In most cases they will take what you can pay them each month. As long as its a worthy amount. Most places will work with you if it comes to money.

Some dental advice, please?

I%26#039;m not sure what you mean by %26quot;care credit,%26quot; but have you tried looking into dental schools? Many times, they will do procedures for cheaper than a regular dentist office.

Some dental advice, please?

ok dont go to mexico. First get dental insurance, meanwhile to deal with the pain take motrin or any over the counter pain reliever.

Some dental advice, please?

Mexico IS a good choice should be able to get good care at an affordable price and hopefully you can write off all associated costs on taxes for medical expense as you%26#039;re really forced to do that.

The dental school idea is legit but I don%26#039;t know about making appointments--I think they do but I fear they%26#039;re months out because the need is so great. Only other thing to do is to shop around for the cheapest dentist. I have dental problems with no insurance and I found a dentist who does the whole shebang on a crown for $500--the visits, the crown, adjustment if necessary. That%26#039;s very reasonable as that would be the co-pay or less if I had insurance which I couldn%26#039;t afford anyway. No idea about what a root canal would cost, but would be comparably cheap I should think.

Another thought is to look for a brand new dentist--starting up they tend to offer lower prices as they need clients. He might be able to offer you a payment plan--may even need a bit of help with the business--maybe you can do something as a bit of a barter? Trying hard to think of anything that could work as I DO feel your pain quite literally and wish you good luck.

BTW, get hooked on chewing gum with XYLITOL--helps reduce dental carries which COULD be a factor with your problems. I think there may be other things you could do, perhaps calcium supplements? to help reduce future problems.

Does anyone know of any veterinary hospitals in Indiana or Ohio that offer payment plans?

I just found out that my female miniature pinscher needs a surgical procedure done on her leg that is going to cost around $1800. I have called around trying to find a vet that will do a payment plan for the cost of the surgery, but they only thing they have offered is a credit card called %26quot;care credit%26quot;. It seems like a good deal, but unfortunately I was denied for this card. So I am just trying to find a vet that will work out a payment plan with me so that my puppy can get her surgery sooner than later. If anyone knows of any vets in Indiana or Ohio that offer payment plans please respond to this. This is a serious question and I would appreciate only serious answers, so please leave your sarcasm and bullshit at the door.

Thanks

Does anyone know of any veterinary hospitals in Indiana or Ohio that offer payment plans?

My heart goes out to you and you little mini - pin..

I understand the situation you are in, vets are just as expensive as %26#039;%26#039;human%26quot; doctors and very rarely will accept any kind of payment plan.

I know of a few vets in Ohio that will consider taking payments as long as they know the customer and has a good history with them. ( but even then, they will not always allow even their most trusted customers the payment option ) ..

All you can do is stay vigilant and do an on-line yellow pages search of all vets in the area you are able to travel to.

There is also another possibility ( it is worth trying anything to help a beloved family pet )

write an e - mail to Dick Goddard at Fox 8 news in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a very well known animal advocate and works with many organizations to help sick, abused, unwanted, and lost pets. Seriously, please contact him..he just might be able to help you find a vet who understands and WILL take payments from you to help your pup live a full and healthy life.

I wish you the best of luck and please let me know how things work out for your pup...

Why should I work?

26 Years of being responsible every day of my life and I finally break $100,000 in income. What do I get

* Not to deduct an IRA

* Not get the dependent credit

* Not get the child care credit

* Not get to deduct my wife%26#039;s education costs

And NOT get to keep 50% of the money I earned.

Is this what%26#039;s ment by having the wealth (and I%26#039;m a long way%26#039;s from weathy) pay thre fair share.

Why should I work?

I agree the more you work the more you pay to the government.

It is a vicious circle. We are paying for the deadbeats here.

Those that want and expect handouts. We are paying for the War. Also all the benefits and programs our government offers.

What is the answer?

Well I like the flat tax rate. Everyone pays the same and is responsible for paying there share or work it off. Money and manhours are equal. If you can not pay the governement then you should work off your share. Help at the Boys %26amp; girls club, work on our roads, sweep the streets etc etc etc.

The way it is now, those with money pay for those that dont have any. This is destined for failure. Because why should the lower class work if the upper class pays their way?

Welfare is easy to get, so it food stamps, so it commodities.

We pay for this from our wages and profits.

Lets get a President and Cabinet that will push through the Flat Rate Tax. This is the best way to go. Let keep our money for our Children, their education and to get their lives off on the right foot.

Why should I work?

Because being a parasite is beneath you, don%26#039;t you think?

Why should I work?

...%26quot;quit%26quot; !!!! sit on your *** ! enjoy ! have a beer ! relax, you can%26#039;t take it with you......!

Why should I work?

You need to keep working so you have Internet capabilities to whine

Why should I work?

its because the man is trying to keep you down man....

Why should I work?

Congratulations you are wealthy enough where you don%26#039;t have to decide whether to buy food or medicine. You are in a position to not worry about having a house to live in. Not everyone is as fortunate. Those folks aren%26#039;t lazy. There a bunch of reasons for that condition. Them that can should pay those that can%26#039;t shouldn%26#039;t

Why should I work?

What are your other options? Pick one and go from there.

Just remember

Welfare ain%26#039;t all its cracked up to be.

Why should I work?

*Did you go to a good college? If not, go to one!!!

*Find a better job!

*In a decent job, you earn money for your family, which is good!

*You will probably be happier (it may not seem this way but it is) with a decent job!

*Make sure you enjoy the job that you take.

*Bye!!!

Why should I work?

I hear you, man.

Until we overhaul our tax system (and doing so means electing sensible congresspeople), there%26#039;s not much we can do about it. BUT, since you brought up the idea of having wealth, I%26#039;d like to share my thoughts.

Having wealth to me means having more income coming in than expenses going out. I think that%26#039;s how it%26#039;s framed in the book Rich Dad Poor Dad. If you haven%26#039;t read this, you must. It will give you concepts to increase this wealth. No, it%26#039;s not a scam, just financial sense that most people don%26#039;t get.

The other way of having wealth appreciating what you already have (a great spouse, a home, a good job, supportive parents, etc.) and what you DON%26#039;T have (a nasty boss, bad health, etc.). It was hard for me to think of these terms but it%26#039;s very rewarding.

Congrats on reaching $100K!!! Good for you, and I hope you and your wife have more successes to come. Perhaps you should also read about the fair tax idea at http://www.fairtax.org/ and get motivated to contact your congresspeople. Hm, I think I will, too.

Why should I work?

Good for you. However, may I point out a few things to you......please read the following and count your blessings.....

Dear Yahoo!:

What is the average salary in the United States?

Bob

New Bern, North Carolina

Dear Bob:

In our quest to find your answer, we uncovered almost as many ways to figure salaries as there are workers in the U.S. Most authorities report %26quot;average income,%26quot; which can include not just salary, but interest income, retirement benefits, and other sources of money as well.

Narrowing our search to %26quot;salary,%26quot; we found that the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the average annual wages in the U.S. as $36,764 for 2002. More recently, the White House reports that the average hourly earnings of nonsupervisory workers was $15.54 in March 2004. The White House also gets its information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which states that in that same month, the average wage for workers in the private sector was around $520 a week

You are making almost 3 times the average salary of we %26quot;joes and janes%26quot; out here...so stop whining.

Why should I work?

I work 60 hours a week educating other people%26#039;s kids. I have to jump through all sorts of flaming hoops and write more and more graduate research papers every year to prove I%26#039;m worthy of being in a position to be physically assaulted by 8th and 9th graders and verbally assualted by parents calling me a liar for giving their can-do-no-wrong kids detentions for misbehavior.

After 17 years of being responsible doing this terrific job, thanks partly to bearing the undesirable social status of middle-aged white male, I still haven%26#039;t broken $40,000 in income.

So are you proposing that I should pay more taxes so that you can keep more of your money? You%26#039;re complaining about only making 100k? Yes, that%26#039;s what I call having the wealth.

You%26#039;re complaining about income tax, but you realize we%26#039;re both paying plenty in federal taxes that are embedded in all the goods and services we buy?

How about if we work to have less government involved in every aspect of life so that we can both keep more of what we earn?

Why should I work?

Go into politics. They are the ones that made the system this way. They punish you for being successful. However they leave loopholes for themselves. Why did they do this? Mose people think of themselves as poor or not very rich. They use this get more votes, to get more power, to get more money for themselves. Everyone wants a free ride.

Trying to get Invisalign? Financing.?

I went to a dentist for invisalign to close spacing and an overbite. I was giving an estimate of $5500. I little high for me, so I applied for Care Credit and was denied for lack of credit. I have $3500 to put down right now, is there any other way to go about getting this without co-signing, or should I just save and wait?

-J

LA, CA

Trying to get Invisalign? Financing.?

You may want to see what kind of payments you could make in installments and forgo the financing altogether (assuming you haven%26#039;t inquired about this already). Most often, they break it up into 3 payments which could certainly buy you some time if you have $3500 saved.

If the dentist you went to has a pay-up-front policy, then I would consider getting a second opinion...most dentists are flexible. Have you tried Dr. Rosenblatt in Beverly Hills? He%26#039;s fantastic. You can contact his office using the link below and they offer complimentary consultations. They also run financing directly through their office, which may help with your lack of credit. Check it out!

Tax question about flexible spending account!!!!?

From 1/1/06 through 7/5/06, I participated in the gov%26#039;t flexible spending account to pay for my daughter%26#039;s afterschool and summer camp (apx. $2200/yr). $1100 was deducted from my salary pre-tax. 7/10/06 I started a new job, and I will never participate in a fsa again.

Her father claims her on his taxes, and will claim the child care credit for the second part of 2006. We are not married, he files head of household and claims her so that we get the earned income credit (he earns a good bit less than I do). I know how we need to do that. My question is... I file single using the 1040EZ, what do I need to do concerning the $1100 from the fsa? Will I need to use a different form? Any help is appreciated.

I usually file my own taxes, so please don%26#039;t suggest asking my tax preparer. Thanks!!!!!

Tax question about flexible spending account!!!!?

I don%26#039;t think that you owe tax on that money.

I have used a health-care FSA for the last several years.

I cannot remember having to do anything special on my tax return for the FSA. I do my own taxes using TurboTax on the PC.

I don%26#039;t think that you do anything with that $1100 number on your tax return. Look on your W-2, which is reported to the IRS. I don%26#039;t think that it will be there. Now if you had a 401(k), the amount of money contributed DOES show up on your W-2.

A medical FSA works this way:

- Contributions are deducted from each paycheck

- If you leave before the end of the year, no more payments are deducted

- If you have an expense AFTER you are no longer employed, you don%26#039;t get reimbursed

- If you use up all the money BEFORE you leave, you don%26#039;t have to pay it back

So, if you could have paid for the whole year before 7/5/06, then started a new job, you would have paid only $1100 but spent $2200 and not have to make up the difference. As it is, you paid for what you used, so that%26#039;s fair.

Thanks for the great answer. Report It

Tax question about flexible spending account!!!!?

ithink you are stuck in a unchangeable situation

Tax question about flexible spending account!!!!?

Thomas K Is correct! The only direct connection with the FSA and your annual income taxes is the amount of your Taxable income reported on your W2 box 1 is lower.

Any money deducted by your employer for the FSA reduced your taxes in this maner.

Please help!!!! bad teeth?

Good day!

Is there any government hospital or medical center in your area? I believe those government medical institutions offers dental services at lesser price or even free. They are actually paid by the government to serve the people at the best of their capability for the citizens%26#039; welfare and health, so try to see a dentist who is working in a government hospital and get your teeth problem solved.

Please help!!!! bad teeth?

Your best bet is to see if there is a dental college near you and have the students work on your teeth for free or next to nothing. We have a dental college here in CA and lots of people go there for their dental work.

Please help!!!! bad teeth?

check out the free clinics in your area...they will work out a deal for you...or hook you up to someone who can.

Please help!!!! bad teeth?

check out some %26quot;affordable dental plans%26quot; in your area some are only 15-25 $ a month for the whole household my state isnt far from yours but it may be different there. or there may be somthing through the state that you are eligable for. also try going to the dental colleges in your area and asking them if they will fix your teeth for not alot of money. the colleges might also have resources on where you can get them fixed if they arent able to fix your teeth themselves. good luck! :)

I efiled on 2/4 accepted on 2/5 by IRS and still no refund as of yet. I know about the delay. this s

they said to check IRS website for updates over weekend to see if you get a new message besides sorry cant give you one as of yet! They only send DDeposit on fridays? Is this really true? Has anyone recieved refund since 2/4 that has child care credit?

I efiled on 2/4 accepted on 2/5 by IRS and still no refund as of yet. I know about the delay. this sucks!?

Relax. It doesn%26#039;t matter which %26quot;format%26quot; you use to file your federal Income Tax return, it will take about 4-6 weeks to recieve your refund check.

I efiled on 2/4 accepted on 2/5 by IRS and still no refund as of yet. I know about the delay. this sucks!?

whine, whine, whine.

I efiled on 2/4 accepted on 2/5 by IRS and still no refund as of yet. I know about the delay. this sucks!?

I checked the irs web site where%26#039;s my refund and at first it said it would be delayed till 2/19 Then it changed to There is a delay My refund needed to be reviewed And it has a code 1121 and it%26#039;s been like that for a few weeks now. I called and of course tha rep couldnt tell me anything. They r pissin me off! Yes they only deposit on fridays i think by 6am.

I efiled on 2/4 accepted on 2/5 by IRS and still no refund as of yet. I know about the delay. this sucks!?

For e-filed return it takes 2 weeks for direct deposit and three weeks for the checks to be sent.

To check the status of your refund, read this:

If it was accepted 2/5, and you had direct deposit, it should have been deposited on 2/15 unless something about your return is being examined further.

Human Society said my kittens leg is broken by the elbow joint.Surgery may not be a sucess. What shou

Michigan Humane Society Took X-rays on my kittens leg. They said my kittens elbow may not function well after surgery as an option. He walks and hops but not that much in pain. They said it my be better to amputat the leg. I dont want to see him hoppin on 3 legs. But he could still be alive. Care credit will allow me $500. Surgery will be about up to $2000. Or about $1000 for amputation. What should I do next. I have no money for this action. If I take it in to Humane Society the will put it to sleep (youthinize it). I wouldnt want that. Do you think I should get a second opinion? Anyone have a suggestions?

Human Society said my kittens leg is broken by the elbow joint.Surgery may not be a sucess. What should I do?

Give it sometime and see how it heals on its own. If its not in pain then wait and see.My shepherd was hit by a car (broken hip) and healed in weeks as good as new. worth a try!

Human Society said my kittens leg is broken by the elbow joint.Surgery may not be a sucess. What should I do?

I would seek aa second opinion.

Human Society said my kittens leg is broken by the elbow joint.Surgery may not be a sucess. What should I do?

I would get the amputation done and set up a payment plan. Most places will do that. OR you can get a short term loan for $500.

Human Society said my kittens leg is broken by the elbow joint.Surgery may not be a sucess. What should I do?

For them to charge $1000 for the amputation is WAY out of line! Granted my cat%26#039;s tail amputation was less complicated but was maybe one or two hundred dollars. Get a second opinion AND lots of cats do quite well on three legs. He is already walking and hopping on the other three legs so he will do just fine if he only has three permanently. It%26#039;s hard to see for you but he%26#039;ll still be a happy little kitty because you love him and take good care of him! Good luck with everything and keep us posted.

Human Society said my kittens leg is broken by the elbow joint.Surgery may not be a sucess. What should I do?

It may seem heartless, but I would put the cat to sleep.

(I live in the country and cats out here need to be able to fight, or else can%26#039;t go out and I couldn%26#039;t do that to kitty)

Are there a dentist in st.louis who can do my gold replacement in the front of my mouth?

i,m looking for a dentist who can replace my gold tooth i had in the front of my mouth at a reasonable price or take my care credit card.i had a gold some six or seven years ago but it came out.

You must phone and find out as some dentists do use cr card facilities.

Does anyone know how to get help with Dental Cost?

I wanting to know if anyone has any information on how to get help for dental cost, the portion that your insurance has not covered? My husband has a lot of work that needs to be done and its going to cost over $3000 and we do not have that money, and all you know that Dental Places want their money up front right away. We already tried applying for financing such as Care Credit and did not qualify, so now we are looking at other ways to help us pay for this work, cause he really needs it done. So any information that anyone has would be very much helpful. Thank you!

Does anyone know how to get help with Dental Cost?

couple of low cost suggestions:

1) dental school: i know it seems scary, but students in the clinic have been %26#039;practicing%26#039; on mannequins for 2-3 years prior, under the supervision of many highly qualified area dentists, and nothing is done without at least two other people checking. it does take some time but you can get a crown for $500 versus $1000+ in private practice.

2) community health centers: again cheap option, about 25% off from private practice. foreign trained dentists usually but all qualified and licensed.

3) state aid insurance like medicaid: some dentists take it and you can get care for 50% off or just a copay.

good luck

Does anyone know how to get help with Dental Cost?

Check out a dental school, the work may be cheap or much less than $3000. Care credit it really hard to get approved, if your credit is not pefect. Most people get denied. You might want to look at a personal credit card or loan from the bank or credit union. The interest would be much less than with Care credit. Also ask the dentist for a discount. He pays Care Credit about 20% for each loan, so he/she may pass the saving to you instead if you use a different source to pay.

Unfortunately dentistry is expensive and most dentist want the money up front anymore. Ask the dentist to do the worst stuff first and maybe your husband can at least buy some time. Good luck!

Does anyone know how to get help with Dental Cost?

Your best bet even with bad credit score is to apply for the membership with DentalService4Less. Make sure you have participating dentist near you or in the places you normally travel to. Search very carefully by zip code or full address. Saving 50-60% is worth it!

Hypersensitivity Only? My Tooth Hurts!?

My xrays from a year ago show a tiny cavity. I%26#039;ve been in and out for the last year getting 3 root canals done and all on a low budget with Care Credit. My fillings are next in line. My next apmt is on March 28th. However, 2 days ago my tiny caivty tooth started hurting right after a bowl of cold cereal. It was a slight lingering ache... almost a pusle. Then it went away and returns now everytime I brush my teeth. I took a dental tool with a mirror to take a look at the tooth since xrays were taken a year ago. The tooth still doesn%26#039;t look any different but a tiny piece of filling is missing... which is now a yellowish color. The tiny cavity hasn%26#039;t changed at all. I%26#039;m so worried this pain is associated with a root canal again. Can someone please tell me, could this just be hypersensitivity? Any professionals out there I would really appreciate the help. Going in to DDS this week for check up. Thanks.

Hypersensitivity Only? My Tooth Hurts!?

This pain doesn%26#039;t mean root canal, cavities will respond with this kind of pain, which is sensitivity to heat/cold, sometimes brushing or any similar stimulus.

Root canals pain is usually a throbbing pain of a more intense nature, it usually responds to heat/cold but keeps hurting for extended period of time (certainly more than seconds and into minutes), and most importantly it is spontaneous, meaning pain can start and stop by itself without any stimulus.

however, some root canals present with no pain at all.

if you have a small cavity a year a go, it%26#039;s unlikely to change into a root canal that fast, and hopefully it%26#039;s a filling still. but make sure you see the dentist ASAP.

Good Luck

My Tooth Hurts A Bit.... Help...?

After brushing (I use Sensydine), and after eating cold cereal, my tooth started hurting... as of a few days ago. Why could this be? Not sensitive to heat, tapping or chewing. Just what I described. It has an old filling and my dentist said a small cavity that needs to be redone which I am doing next month. I%26#039;m scared to death here. Been in the chair too much the last 1.5 years... can%26#039;t count. Trying to fix my teeth and pay as I go, using care credit even, and it%26#039;s still hard to get to them all. Any professional advice out there? Thank you.

My Tooth Hurts A Bit.... Help...?

When you have an old filling with failing margins you have a gap between the tooth structure and filling material exposing the dentin beneath the enamel. The dentin is softer and more porous and therefore more sensitive to temperature. It is also more prone to decay. I would guess this is where the sensitivity is coming from. Has your dentist or hygienist recommended a prescription fluoride toothpaste or rinse for you? From what you have said, it may be a good idea to discuss this with them. Also, if your appointment to have that filling done isn%26#039;t in the next week or so you may want to consider moving your appointment up. My concern is that if it goes on too long the tooth may become infected and need root canal therapy.

I need to get my wisdom teeth taken out but i dont know how much it is going to cost.?

I have no private health cover. I have looked into care credit and it seems like a good idea. I would like to know aroundabout how much it is going to cost to have all 4 teeth taken out. Is it going to be hundreds or thousands??

I need to get my wisdom teeth taken out but i dont know how much it is going to cost.?

YIKES!!! I feel for you. I gave birth three times with no epidural and the pain came nowhere close to the pain I felt from having them darn teeth pulled. It will run about $2000 if you want to be put to sleep. I recommend this method hands down. About $800 to be awake. Depends on how brave you are. I pray you do not get dry sockets. Buy plenty of jello before the procedure also. You will be sore for about a week.

I need to get my wisdom teeth taken out but i dont know how much it is going to cost.?

Depending on which part of the country you live in, it should cost between $200 and $500 a tooth.

I need to get my wisdom teeth taken out but i dont know how much it is going to cost.?

It was $1200 to get all 4 of mine removed via IV sedation with an oral surgeon doing the extraction.

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

Hi I%26#039;m actually asking for my mom. She%26#039;s been my daycare provider since I went back to work, and in %26#039;06 I paid her $400. She%26#039;s a homemaker, my father works and they have 3 dependants. I want to use the child care credit on my taxes, but will they come after her for not filing if she doesn%26#039;t? It%26#039;s only $80 for me so if it cost her more than that, I%26#039;d rather just skip it.

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

Yes, your parents need to claim that income on their joint return. What it will cost them will depend upon their tax situation. Since it was $400 or more, there may be Self-Employment tax on the net profit form the activity. Income tax will also be due.

Unless they are willing to reveal their total financial picture to you, there%26#039;s no way for you to know what the tax impact on them will be. It could be anything from $0 to as much as $200.

Your folks are legally obligated to report the income so it doesn%26#039;t matter whether you claim the credit or not. Given that, you should claim the credit since not doing so will not affect their legal tax liability and will save you a few $$$ in the bargain.

Contrary to what a mis-informed poster said, you CAN claim the credit for money paid to a relative as long as the relative is not YOUR dependent or a parent of the child who the care was provided for.

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

TFTP Report It

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

No Problem, Skip it!

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

I don%26#039;t think that%26#039;s worth claiming. If it doesn%26#039;t matter to you, don%26#039;t do it.

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

In order for you to take the credit the person providing the daycare cannot be a relative. Refer to IRS pub17 for more info but it looks like you wont be able to take the child care credit but your mom will still have to claim the income. Good luck.

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

If her MAXIMUM TOTAL income was less than $3,400, there is no need for her to file. If your mom is filing joint with her husband, I really don%26#039;t think the $400 would amount to much increase at all to the tax due.

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

If it%26#039;s her only income it%26#039;s tax-free (I think that $1200/year is the cut-off).

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

My understanding would be that if you claim the credit, then your mother will have to claim the income.

Assuming that she and your father file jointly, your mom would not have to file a separate return, but the $400 would be added into their joint tax return. If their taxable income is in the 15% bracket ($15,100-$61,300 of taxable income), then that will cost them $60 extra in federal taxes plus probably some amount in state taxes depending on what state you are in. If their taxable income is more than $61,300, then I think they%26#039;d likely owe more than you%26#039;d get back.

If for some reason your parents file separately (which is most likely not in their best interest), then I think the $400 is low enough that your mother will not owe any tax (unless she has enough other income from interest or dividends to put her over the limit of who must file).

Contrary to a previous I answer, I believe that you CAN deduct payments to relatives as long as the relative is not 1) your spouse, 2) your child or someone you claim as a dependent, and 3) not the child%26#039;s parent.

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

Self-employed individuals, sole-proprietors, independent contractors and persons who have net earnings of $400 or more are required to pay self-employment tax by filing Schedule SE.

It may be a hard decision for you but the tax code is relatively clear on this issue.

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

If it%26#039;s $80 fpr you then you must have submitted paperwork to the IRS, like a 1099 for her. In that case, it%26#039;s too late. But if you didn%26#039;t then it can be your little secret.

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

She would be considered %26quot;self employed%26quot; and the limit on reporting self employment is anything OVER $400. So she is in luck! You can claim the child care credit. And depending on your father%26#039;s income it may actully be beneficial for her to claim the 400 because of EIC. EIC runs on a bell curve, for two dependents (two dependents are all you get EIC for ) the ideal income is between 11,300 and 16,000.

Made $400 in babysitting $$, need to claim?

If she files a joint return with your dad, then yes, she is legally required to claim it. That%26#039;s whether you take a child care credit for the amount or not.

If she is not otherwise going to file, she would still have to file - the cutoff is $400 or more of gross self-employment income. Her self-employment tax on this amount would be less than the $80 that you mention claiming the credit will save you.

Is k1 income earned or unearned?

I am trying to claim a dependent care credit. I am a 100% owner of an S corp and my husband got a w2, but the turbotax program claims I do not have earned income.

Is k1 income earned or unearned?

The distributive share of an S-Corp is not considered earned income. The earned income arising from an S-Corp should have been passed as a W2 to the S-Corp owner.

Is k1 income earned or unearned?

wrong answer voted as best answer once again. Report It

Is k1 income earned or unearned?

Depending on what the k-1 income, it can be either earned or unearned. You might need to check off a box somewhere in your turbotax program to make the s-corp income be earned, but then that should also subject it to self-employment tax for you.

Is k1 income earned or unearned?

It is unearned income in this case. S - corp income is really considered a dividend. In the future, pay yourself a salary, file payroll taxes and complete a w-2.

Lisa,

Try asking your vet to take payments or try and find one that will. There is no one who provides money for vet care that I know of.

If all else fails see if you can find a shelter that will take him and get him well. It would mean surrendering him, but it may save his life.

I will be praying for you both.

My cat snuck out and got hit by a car and now needs surgery that I can%26#039;t pay 100% any help?

Don%26#039;t just put your cat down! Talk to your vet to see if he/she thinks your kitty will make a good recovery. Don%26#039;t just assume that your cat will be sore or unhappy for the rest of its life. If you just put kitty down without considering surgery (like some people are suggesting), you%26#039;ll always wonder if you did the right thing. Your cat sounds like it%26#039;s really fighting for its life, and if you can help it you should! About getting money for surgery, consider a loan or asking family. Some vet clinics or shelters might have discounted rates, also. Good luck and I hope your kitty gets better soon!

Try any rescue groups in your area, or SPCA, sometimes they can help or even do the surgery for a lower cost. Talk to the vet, they won%26#039;t let you make payments? Give them as much as you have and then make arrangement to make payments. If they%26#039;ll let you, if not, try and find another vet in your area that will.

My cat snuck out and got hit by a car and now needs surgery that I can%26#039;t pay 100% any help?

I agree with David B you should put it down even if you spend the money to heal the cat it will never be the same and it%26#039;s health will only get worse so let it go it%26#039;s hard I know but it%26#039;s the right thing to do.

My cat snuck out and got hit by a car and now needs surgery that I can%26#039;t pay 100% any help?

Some of you guys are really mean. You shouldn%26#039;t poke fun at somebody who really needs some help. Listen, everybody feels bad when their pet dies/or is killed. My cat was purposely hit last year and to this day it still gets me. I admire the fact that you want to help your pet but think about it, he has a broken pelvis. Some of these people are right, what good will it do him if he does have surgery. He%26#039;ll probably live in pain for the rest of his life. There are so many nice cats out there that need a good home, people aren%26#039;t going to automatically donate money for something like this, because of that fact alone. Put your cat down, it%26#039;s tough. It%26#039;s sad but let him go. If you have this operation, you%26#039;re probably going to be running up vet bills forever. Put the cat down...and one last thing, to the wise guy that said %26quot;get a bullet%26quot;- go to ****.

My cat snuck out and got hit by a car and now needs surgery that I can%26#039;t pay 100% any help?

Some vets are willing to set up payment plans, if you can%26#039;t locate funds immediately. Good luck with the cat!

I%26#039;m sorry to tell you this but the only way your cat will get better is to take her to the vet. You cat is suffering. You%26#039;re right I wouldn%26#039;t have my child put to sleep if they were sick. But I also wouldn%26#039;t want my child to be suffering and in constant pain. Check with local animal shelters for financial help. If you can%26#039;t do nothing else it%26#039;s better to put your cat to sleep. Don%26#039;t let it suffer. I know if I was that badly hurt I would rather die peacefully than be in so much pain. Please don%26#039;t let her suffer any more.

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

I%26#039;m unmarried with a newborn. I have daycare expenses and qualify for the child care credit. I work full time, but was on unemployment where no taxes were taken out of my paycheck for 5 months. Before then I worked for 6 weeks and was claiming 0 and had an additional $15 taken out each week (in anticipation of my upcoming unemployment).

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

My head is dizzy with the plethora of answers. I%26#039;ve done hundreds of tax returns for single mothers who earn less than $27,000 per year and who claim a child. If you fall into this category, then chances are you will end up with no tax liability or even with a negative tax liability. Translation: chances are you will get back all the federal taxes that were withheld PLUS some more. Why, Earned Income Credits and Child Tax Credits. You can claim a very high number of exemptions (Single 9) on your W-4 and even though you won%26#039;t have any federal taxes withheld, you will still get a refund.

If your income is a bit higher, go with Single 3. If it is 6 figures or more, go with Single 2. Don%26#039;t listen to people that give a blanket statement to claim a very small number. Sure, you%26#039;ll get an excessively large refund, but your weekly paycheck will be unnecessarily small. Most single mothers I know need money NOW, not in February.

One huge caveat...can anyone claim you as a dependent on their return? I didn%26#039;t say %26quot;Will they%26quot;; I asked %26quot;Can they%26quot;. If they can, then you will NOT get to claim your child as a dependent and you will NOT get the Child Tax Credit and you will NOT get the Earned Income Credit and you will NOT get the daycare credit....well, you get the picture. If you paid at least half of your own support for the year, you are totally safe. If you did not, then the person that did may have the right to claim you. If you are not sure, PLEASE see a tax professional. The repercussions could be huge. Since your income is above $3300, the only way someone can claim you is if you are their %26quot;Qualifying Child%26quot;. Be careful if you lived with a relative for at least 6 months (mother, grandmother, sister, brother) AND if you did NOT pay at least half of your own support.

Finally, avoid the Advance Earned Income Credit (form W-5) alltogether. This is when they pay you for EIC throughout the year. What happens when, at tax time, you realize you don%26#039;t qualify for the EIC for some stupid reason? Now, you have until April 15th to pay it all back. Sound like fun? I didn%26#039;t think so. Congress should repeal that stupid option. I can%26#039;t tell you how many people get caught in that trap every year.

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

by claiming 0 you have a better chance of a refund

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

Claim yourself AND your child (for a total of 2). Also claim the childcare credit.

Always claim yourself as an exemption; a lot of people miss this one.

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

The question is do you want a huge refund next April or a smaller refund by increasing your take home pay.

The W-4 has a worksheet which can be used to estimate the number of exemptions given the daycare expenses and child care credit. {EDIT} With an estimated income of $18,000 (includes the unemployment benefits) and 3 months left in the year - just claim yourself and the baby and forget about the worksheet. Sorry.... {END OF EDIT}

I%26#039;ve known people receiving $3,500 refunds with child care credit and working full time. If you want the government to keep your money interest free - that%26#039;s fine. If you want a smaller refund and more money with each check - then increase your exemptions by at least 2 or 3 (meaning 4 or 5 vs. 2)

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

Take as few as possible. Otherwise, they%26#039;ll hit you up for the difference come April 15th next year.

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

Head of househole, you%26#039;ll get the added benefits with having the baby when you file. I would keep it at zero because you%26#039;ll get a hefty refund at the end of the year and you%26#039;re already used to it being that rate, and I would just remove the extra 15 you contribute, believe me, you won%26#039;t need it.

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

Is your AGI for 2006 around 13,800.00 or less, if so then you have no taxable income. If it is over that amount then on your W4 line 3 should be single, line 5 should be -0- . line 6 is correct about $15.00.

Please be aware you may also have to withold for State income tax if you have state tax.

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

On your W-4, you should claim one exemption for every $2000 in deductions that you plan to have. Since you will file as head of household, you will have $13,800 in deductions if you do not itemize. Therefore, you can claim 7 exemptions on your W-4.

However, this does not take into account that you get the child credit, the child care credit, or the possibility of earned income credit.

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

That depends on how much you want to get back at the end of the year. I would not claim more than two. How ever if you are eligible for the earned income credit and do not want to Waite until the end of the year you can fill out a form w-5 and you will get some of the credit now and some at the end of the year. Go to IRS.GOV and check it out for your self. Good luck to you!

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

Please, please do not fill out those worksheets. Those are extremely scary and always give most people way too many exemptions. End result: they end up owing at tax time. I would claim, at the most, two exemptions. You didn%26#039;t say what you income was. do you qualify for earned income credit? That will help out. Claiming two will lower your refund for this year but will give you more money on each paycheck.

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

If you want a bigger refund go with 0. If you need more money now then go for 1 or 2. If someone else (the person you live with) can claim you claim 0.

How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

claim yourself and your baby...[if father is claiming you or your baby, one one parent can claim child, and if he is claiming you , you can not claim yourself

Back Brace Indicated for Correcting Adult Scoliosis?

i am 26 years old and i have been diagnosed with scoliosis. i have no medical insurance and care credit has rejected my application for financial assistance. the chiropractor who initially diagnosed the condition through x-rays cannot treat me as my finances currently stand.

i sought a second opinion before i learned that financing was not an option, and was advised to seek treatment at a scoliosis specialty hospital in phoenix (i live in kc, can%26#039;t afford chiropractor, how can i afford extended travel out of state, plus medical expenses?) where i would be fitted with a brace for 3 to 6 months (again, how would i be able to be away from home that long, while raising 2 toddlers?)

is there any proven remedy for adult scoliosis? could i obtain a back brace somewhere besides a hospital or scoliosis center that could help me? i am in constant pain %26amp; can barely pick up or carry my children any more.

Back Brace Indicated for Correcting Adult Scoliosis?

a back brace can be ordered by a therapist, you can get a generic one at a health supply and some pharmacies, the brace won%26#039;t cure the problem, but it will help

Back Brace Indicated for Correcting Adult Scoliosis?

you might try a corset to make you straighter, a heel lift for your short leg, doctor scholes gel foot inserts, coated aspirin and Valerian root should relax you. Report It

Back Brace Indicated for Correcting Adult Scoliosis?

I was going to ask you how serious your scoliosis is, then I read that you are in constant pain. Did your chiropractor say specifically that the pain is caused by the scoliosis? If it isn%26#039;t, there may be some at-home physical therapy exercises you can do. Even if scoliosis is the problem, exercises and stretches may help. Did you chiropractor tell you the degree of the curvature? There%26#039;s really nothing you can do on your own to reverse or stop the progression of the curvature. You can just manage the pain. And, a brace would definitely help the scoliosis, but the are EXPENSIVE. I had one after my surgery, thank goodness I had insurance, because that one in particular was in excess of ten grand. You can probably order a generic one, but with the scoliosis it might be difficult to get one that will help you. My brace was custom fit to my body, because of my scoliosis, they couldn%26#039;t use and off the shelf one. But, I don%26#039;t know how you feel about medication, but ibuprofen works wonders for my back pain.

Back Brace Indicated for Correcting Adult Scoliosis?

hi,

i am an english physio specialising in scoliosis treatment. from what i have experienced a brace is only usually indicated (in this country anyway) in the growth period. it seems strange for you to be recommended this at your age. is your curvature progressing? have you been diagnosed by a doctor or just the chiropractor?

i do know of an exercise treatment that helps to relieve all the symptoms of scoliosis. its based on specific corrections and exercises that you are taught and must do EVERY single day forever. its called the katarina schroth technique. its not available in english except for one clinic in the UK. I have worked at this clinic but had to leave for particular ethical reasons. i am now setting up on my own. i want to travel and help people help themselves. I have had some amasing results but you need to make sure that you definatley have the condition first before going any further. if you want to chat further then contact me on my main email:

deborah99@hotmail.com

cheers,

deborah

Back Brace Indicated for Correcting Adult Scoliosis?

Deborah..I think I know what the asker is talking about..

generally, rigid braces are only used during growth phase...

there%26#039;s a soft brace called spinecor that can be used for symptomatic relief clinically...you should know...spinecor is produced and based in UK...

Anyway..back to the main question...10 degree curve does not call for bracing...yes..even spinecor. I%26#039;d suggest that you find another chiropractor.

Back Brace Indicated for Correcting Adult Scoliosis?

I am 37 and was diagnosed with scoliosis at 17. I couldn%26#039;t be braced because i had stopped growing. it just won%26#039;t work. don%26#039;t let people on this site or others try to sell you on some %26quot;special%26quot; brace, because it won%26#039;t work.

If you are considering surgery, do it now, because trust me, pain just gets worse and healing harder as you get older.

I have neck pain and have tried chiropractor, acupuncture, epidural steroid injections, nerve block...everything short of surgery. it will be cheaper for you in the long run to treat this problem now.

Plus ask your doctor about Talwin (paid med) and muscle relaxers. I take Vicodin and Darvocet for pain. Most of these drugs are generic and are pretty inexpensive. Good luck!

Back Brace Indicated for Correcting Adult Scoliosis?

Since you are 26 and full grown a back brace will not help you at all. Back braces are used to PREVENT any more curving, and since you are done growing it will not do anything for you. Doctors recommend surgery if you are in constant pain.

What form do I need to file?

I babysit a child during the week and the mother pays me for this service. She wants to file for the child care credit. What forms do I also need to file?

What form do I need to file?

The only way you need to file is if she sends you a 1099 MISC. before January 31, 2007.

In that case all you do is file form 1040 %26amp; Schedule C because it%26#039;ll count as self employment - I assume that she is not deducting taxes etc.?

What form do I need to file?

just report this income to your tax preparer

What form do I need to file?

you will most likely file a 1099 form.

that bites too!

cash should be cash ;)

What form do I need to file?

None you%26#039;ll be ok.

What form do I need to file?

She (the mom) will need your social security number in order to claim the child care credit on her tax return. You will need to report this income on your tax return. If you are babysitting in your home, you can claim a home office deduction for the use of your home for the day care. This will help to reduce the amount of tax you will need to pay on your babysitting income. Also, the net babysitting income (income after deducting expenses) will be subject to self employment tax.

Spay and neuter low cost in Boise, ID?

I would like to spay and neuter my puppies (1 boy 1 girl). I asked how much the local shelter does it for and it is still pretty expensive. I need to get it done inexpensivly. Does anyone know of anywhere to get it done for low cost? I%26#039;ve tried to contact PAWS for live in Idaho and get undeliverable every time I send an e-mail. They don%26#039;t have a phone listed to call.

I do not qualify for the care credit they offer.

Please help.

Spay and neuter low cost in Boise, ID?

I have brought my cat into Pet Co. when they have had adoptions there(cats and kittens) they told me about Pet Haven, I called them and asked ? they told me that it would be only $25.00 for our cat and I also asked about our dog. I can%26#039;t remember where, but I think they said it would be around $35 to $40. Here%26#039;s Pet Haven%26#039;s Ph. # 208-466-1298 if you would like to check it out. Just ask about low cost Spay and neuter for your dogs. I had them fix our cat. Hope this helps. Cynthia

Spay and neuter low cost in Boise, ID?

Do you have an anti-cruelty society? The one in my city only charges $25 fpr spay OR neuter, regardless of size.

Spay and neuter low cost in Boise, ID?

Go to your local pet store and see if they know of any mobile clinics coming through. There is one that roles through my area once every 2 or 3 months. They set these up to where everything is all ready to go so they can spay and neuter dogs quickly. The quicker they can do this the more they can do at once, making them charge less to do it. It generally costs around $20 per dog to do it. (Give or take $10)

If there is one coming through research its name online and make sure that they have well qualified vets that they use and that there are no major complaints involving the clinic itself. The one that comes through here uses all local vets but supply all of the materials. The vets just donate their time.

Good luck!

Spay and neuter low cost in Boise, ID?

Contact your local Humane Society. If you are on a government income you qualify for low income Vet services. Social Security, SSI for sure but not sure on anything else that may qualify you.

Spay and neuter low cost in Boise, ID?

Search for vets who do a sliding scale veterinary work, these will go off of what YOU make, so that you can afford this. And thank you for being responsible!

Electric bill help in CA!?

I live in southern california. It has been about 110 over here with humidity. My average bill is usually 127.38. Last month it shot to 279.60. Ok I said to myself, it has been hot and I have used the a/c some. Then I get this month%26#039;s bill...855.65!!!!! This looks like a definite error right? I called So Cal Edison. They had me read my meter to them and said that the bill was correct and I had to pay. That is almost as much as my house payment! They have payment plans but it is every two weeks instead of billing cycles so that was no help. BTW, she also advised me that was with the CARE credit and that there will be an increase next month here in Cali. Does anyone have any advice on how to negotiate the bill down. I just don%26#039;t see how it went from 127.38 to 855.65!!!! Please Help!

Electric bill help in CA!?

I%26#039;m in San Diego and we have SDGE. I have another alternative for you. Even if you dispute the bill, they will only come out and re-read the meter, as well as checking for malfunction. Last month, CA went on the higher charge per kilowat summer rates. Yeah, it is a total scam because come October, they will change the therm rate for natural gas, so they can gouge you again when you heat your home.

SDGE offers a level pay program that might help you negotiate with SoCal Ed. Level pay means you pay exactly the same amount every month regardless of what you actually use. I%26#039;m not on it, but a lot of my neighbors are and usually they get a %26quot;rebate%26quot; on overages in December.

Unfortunately, with the high heat and humidity we%26#039;ve been experiencing, even those of us who don%26#039;t run the AC normally have been forced to do so. My bill also tripled but most of my neighbors are paying well over 1,000 a month because they have kids!

I had SDGE do an energy audit to see where and when I was using the most energy. Maybe SoCal Ed has the same thing. I was shocked to discover it costs 2 cents an hour to run a fan, whether ceiling, window or portable. But, it is 80 cents an hour for AC.

Good luck.

Electric bill help in CA!?

i have the same problem mine was atleast 500.00 for three months .but i got on a payment plan they offer where you give them the average you get payed a month and they give you a set price you pay each month .i now pay 150.00 a month . Report It

Electric bill help in CA!?

BUT NOW I HAVE NOTICE THAT OUR PG%26amp;E HAS GONE UP MORE SENCE WE HAVE BEEN USING THE CENTRAL AC IN OUR HOME MORE FREQUENTLY. Report It

Electric bill help in CA!?

I would definitely dispute this to the your local Public Utility Commission.

But if they insist you have to pay it, there are non-profit organizations such as Catholic Charities and the such, who do give temporary help in paying utilities, rent, and such.

And you live in California, the most liberal state in the Union. I%26#039;m sure that there are governmental social services there unavailable in the rest of the country. Go to them as well.

Electric bill help in CA!?

you may need to have your house weatherized- maybe its not insulated very well. i live in Kansas- we%26#039;ve had weather 116 here and my electric bill is $155 or thereabouts every month. of course i have double paned windows and the best energy effecient a/c and furnace you can get. as far as help to pay the bill, contact your local churches for assistance, some of them may have a program where they help ppl. contact the church u go to first, then go from there.

Electric bill help in CA!?

i would check your bill they have a meter reading each month so you can figure out how many kilo watt hours you are being billed for. look at the 2 previous months to verify accuracy

Electric bill help in CA!?

Unless there is something defective in the meter, I don%26#039;t see how you can avoid paying the bill. Did your power use really triple in one month? If not, there might be a problem with the meter.

Electric bill help in CA!?

Sounds like the utility is gouging you for their increased cost of electricity in a short supply market. You can reduce your cost by turning up the temp of your AC, or using it less often. Try hanging out at the mall, or a coffee shop, or the local library that has AC instead of your house. Turn the AC off when you%26#039;re not at home. Also turn off every non-essential electrical item. If your house gets a lot of sun, you could look into investing in a solar panel system to help ease your dependance on the local utility .

Electric bill help in CA!?

It was kind of hot here in Nebraska in June and my electric bill went from $40 to $90 but now in July its even been hotter so I hope it doesnt double again. Now of days neighbors manage to sell electricy someone how. I don%26#039;t know how it works but I hear it has happen.

Electric bill help in CA!?

You are kidding about the humidity right?! I born and raised in Long Beach, CA and I don%26#039;t remember any humidity! I mean if you want to talk humid come to the east coast and I%26#039;ll show you humid! It%26#039;s worse for me being I didn%26#039;t grow up in it so I hate it so much! As for your bill I honestly don%26#039;t think that sounds right and I totally think you should investgate more! Don%26#039;t let them tell you it%26#039;s right until you have checked everything yourself!

Why has my FICO score dropped?

My FICO score dropped from 747 in November 2006 to 694 this month...... Ive been paying my payments on time, the only thing i could think of is that i had a CareCredit line of up to $8,000.00 that i had never used until April 2007 when I got invasalign so I used my Care Credit and charged about $5,500.00. Could that be why it dropped? And any tips on how to make it go back up? Thank You.

Why has my FICO score dropped?

Using more of your credit line can drop your score. So can any sudden change in you credit habits.

Why has my FICO score dropped?

You nailed it.

You are 68.75% of your credit line now. That is the reason your score dropped.

The only way to raise it back is to pay off the line of credit or at least pay it down to under 30% of your credit line.

Why has my FICO score dropped?

that could explain the drop, its not fair but to have the best fico score it is best to not use more that 25%-30% of all available credit.

How much does it cost to pull a wisdom tooth?

ur going to pay office visit around $ 60.00 dallors

if it doest take surgery and about under $200.00 with it all i would say for 1 wisdom but if u had insurance it would b a little less

How much does it cost to pull a wisdom tooth?

There is a reason prices are usually not given over the phone - it depends on the position of the teeth and the level of eruption. A dentist who has to remove bone is naturally going to charge more than if it is a simple, erupted extraction. The fees relate to the time and effort needed to remove the tooth. Also, there are follow-up visits to check healing and remove stitches if any are placed. All these visits are included in the extraction fee, so you can see how it could vary.

In addition, the cost of anesthetic is involved. If you have just a local (an injection to numb the area) it will be a lot less than if you request general anesthetic. An alternative might be an oral sedative such as Halcion or Valium.

In my area, fees for a general dentist to do a simple extraction run from $160 to $200. A surgical extraction (where soft tissue needs to be removed) would be more, a boney (where bone tissue is removed) even more. The dentist should be able to tell you based on a physical exam and looking at the x-rays.

It makes sense to do all of your wisdom teeth at once - one anesthetic, one recovery, etc.

Remember, this is surgery. Not a time to go for the cheapest. Can you get a loan from a relative?

Need dentist...no insurance?

Ive been suffering an infected wisdom tooth (pussing, bleeding etc) and cant seem to find anyone to help!! Ive called over 30 dentist but cant find one to make up a payment plan for me, and i didnt qualify for Care Credit. I have no insurence and all the personal insurence companies have atleast a 6 month waiting period for major services. I saved up $285 to finally be seen and was told i had to have oral surgery so i basically wasted my money for nothing. I was in the hospital for 3 days because the infection got into my bloodstream and made me very ill. This is getting ridiculous!! Welfare in my state offers absolutly no help to me and Im saving money again but i need around $775-1000 worth of work done so its gonna take awhile since i live paycheck to paycheck. If anyone has any ideas please let me know!! Thank You

Contact a local college and ask them if they offer low cost or free dental care.

Need dentist...no insurance?

I%26#039;m on the same boat was you atm. I hope it all works out for you!

Need dentist...no insurance?

Go to Universities that have Dental Schools. They always need volunteers for their students. It would be free for sure! Call them up and make an appointment. Usually it would be junior and senior dental students working on you...under their professor%26#039;s supervision of course.

Need dentist...no insurance?

Some options:

Talk to your employer about getting more hours and getting on their insurance plan.

Get a new job with insurance.

move to another state with medicaid.

Need dentist...no insurance?

Go to some dentist with a payment plan or get a credit card that you can put it on.

Having to go the hospital repeatidly is going to end up costing way more than the surgery!!!

If your tooth is already infected its not going to get any better..only worse! The infection can travel fast and you will end up getting more sick and racking up HUGE medical bills

Need dentist...no insurance?

I know colleges with dental programs have lower costs. I go to one and a check up is 35 dollars. but i%26#039;m sure there are ones that are cheaper, just ask your local college and make an appointment.

Veterinarian discount card(s)?

Does anyone know of a place or a website or somewhere I can find and/or get, or Print out a Veterinarian Discount Card?

My boyfriend broke his foot and is out of work right now and it%26#039;s allleft up to me at this point for a While... So I REALLY NEED TO BRING MY KITTEN IN! He%26#039;s super sick and won%26#039;t eat (going on 3 days now!, which is way too long, but I was hoping it was just a cold or something, but who knows what it could be!) and is Finally now Barely drinking water, so he needs to go ASAP! ....

I know about care credit, but I think you have to spend like around $300 or more to even apply, and I%26#039;m not really sure if it will be that much or not anyway??? Maybe more maybe less, hard to say right now...

Please help me out here.

Veterinarian discount card(s)?

I don%26#039;t know the answer to your question but, I have a suggestin for you: call around to several of yur area veterinarian%26#039;s offices and explain the situation and ask what possible could be and if that is it turns out to be, how much would they estimate the total bill (including office visit) would be. If they won%26#039;t tell you, just find out what an office visit costs, what a full blood panel would cost and lastly what a full set of body x-rays would cost. If they won%26#039;t share this information I%26#039;d say move on and keep calling others. Best of luck. I hope that it is nothing serious and that he%26#039;s better very soon. I have 3 cats that are very much a part of me and I know how scary it is when one of them is not well. Good luck. I hope you have a good outcome, both for your cat and you pocketbook.

Veterinarian discount card(s)?

You might REALLY try to get a local vet to RX you some amoxi-drops for the cat. A lot of kittens have respiratory issues when they are young. It would be worth a shot. If not, hopefully you can find a compassionate vet who will take it easy on the bill.
